Flank Steak, Lasagna and good weather

Day three in Carpenteria and having a fantastic time. Day one was a bit hectic with the travel time and getting settled into the new place, but we’ve since found our groove. The weather has been picture perfect with plenty of sun and some scattered clouds keeping things cool.

Doug made flank steak the second night, quite good. Mama had Firestone Cab on tap which made even better! He was usingĀ  Soy Vey Teriyaki sauce from Trader Joe’s, very tasty. There was plenty left over which meant lots of delicious steak sandwiches. What else did we do (other than eating and making merriment?)? Well, Aunt Mary and Aunt Sue are in town for a few days, so we are taking plenty of walks as they like to move. We’ve also been spending some time at the beach. It’s only 3 blocks away, sweet.

Prior to heading out to the beach on Monday, Miriam and Doug had a surprise for all the girls – cute little red aprons! Here is a fun picture of all five them with their new aprons on. Last night we had Nonna’s lasagna which was delicious. Aunt Pat, Uncle Irv, Cousins Rob, Kyle and Elizabeth were up for the day. We had some fun at the beach and then ate well into the evening. Aunt Pat made a delicious salad and Cousin Elizabeth brought sumptuous brownies, a perfect end to a perfect dinner.

I have posted all the pictures on geneperry.net, just check the images link.

  1. Indeed! The food was great — definitely not on my regular diet, either, with meat at every dinner. Oy! And the company was fantastic, thanks to the five little girls running around causing chaos and creating so much simple joy.

Great shots of the girls in their aprons. Miss you guys already. Can we do this next week???!!!!
